Fall around the Palouse

Fall has come to the Palouse.  The thick, handmade quilts my Gramma has made me now cover the bed; the sunlight is streaming through my big bedroom windows differently, more concentrated and picky in its reach; the local harvest has come and gone, and our neighboring community, Whitman County, recently surpassed productivity records.  Winter wheat went from 73 bushels per acre to 75, and Spring wheat rose from 55 per acre to 61 bushels .

Fall is one of my favorite times of year to get outside, and Jack pretty much demands frequent access to the woods, so I have been spending as much time as possible up on Moscow Mountain.  Moscow Mountain is a fun and easily accessible outdoor recreation area near town, with trails for walking, running, biking and dogs.

We all share this resource and really appreciate it, as the Palouse hills tend to be privately held lands, making the mountain one of our few proximal public land areas.
