In the Bighorns

At the top of Tensleep Canyon

Max traveled out from California last week to visit me.  He's on his way to Austin, Texas, where he is beginning a Master's program in Musical Composition.  I haven't seen him in two months, since I left California for Wyoming, so there was a big build up in preparing for this trip and for ourselves in re-acclimating to each other. 

We decided not to go into the Wind River Mountains, which are basically Lander's big backyard, and instead headed into the Bighorn National Forest, since I am more knowledgeable with that terrain and the surrounding towns.  We saw so many gorgeous areas of the Bighorns together, from the view at the top of Hunter Mesa, to the most beautiful meadow straight out of a dream in Firebox Park, Buffalo's Clear Creek, which served as our shower area, and the trail to Misty Moon Lake; we enjoyed the forest and each other so much, which is exactly how it should be.
