Thermopolis, Wyoming
Teepee Fountain
The Wyoming Dinosaur Center Mural
The terrain from Dubois to Thermopolis changes so gradually, it almost sneaks up on you. Before you know it, those marbled looking, layered sandstone peaks that symbolize Dubois for me disappear, being replaced by slate gray clouds, outweighing the vast spring green meadows and farm land. I drive on through the beautiful towns of Crowheart and Kinnear; at Riverton the course changes. Heading north leads through Shoshoni, and along through Boysen State Park. The air is hot, dust settles on everything, beauty and an extreme landscape are just a part of this place.
